I stopped by Mighty-O on Saturday morning at their Greenlake location, having previously been to their Capitol Hill and Ballard spots. All their locations are very neighborhood-y family friendly with lots of indoor seating, Greenlake has a really nice outdoor patio area too with plenty of room to park your bike (Capitol Hill and Ballard are both on busier streets, so this is much calmer).
Mighty-O is know as "the vegan donut" in Seattle, they do source all their ingredients as oppose to buying pre-made mixes and glazes, and they are all organic, vegan, non-gmo, yadda yadda yadda. But how do they taste?! They have good variety of flavors, today I had a vanilla glazed with sprinkles and a french toast donut. They do have some very unique flavors I haven't seen elsewhere (ie peppermint & chocolate, peanut butter glaze) as well as your traditional chocolate or powdered. They call them cake donuts but have a consistency closer to a slightly crumbly coffee cake rather than a "traditional" cake donut. So really close to what you expect considering it's all vegan, this aint tofurkey. The glaze has a really nice snap to it too. These definitely taste more "from the earth" the way a strawberry plucked from the vine is better than anything you can buy in a store. The french toast was especially delicious, not too overly sweet and the powdered sugar didn't leave that film in your mouth you can get sometimes from over-processed sugars.
In my heart I'm a traditionalist donut enjoyer (not in my heart like artery-clogging) but Mighty-O's uniquely PNW vegan donuts are undeniably delicious and don't sit in your belly feeling like a glob.
